The Nike Air Jordan 5 is (as the name implies of course) the fifth model that Nike made with Michael Jordan. The were released in 1990 and were designed by design legend Tinker Hatfield. The inspiration for this banger runs deep! Because Michael Jordan was banging so hard on the basketball court, Tinker Hatfield was inspired by a World War II American fighter jet. And because the nickname for this plane is 'The Shark', Tinker came up with the shark teeth on the midsole.
